Juniors & Ladies

We believe that the Club should be part of its community.  As a Club and as individuals, we have raised funds for a number of initiatives supporting both local, national and inter-national charities.  These include: -

Winnie Mabaso Foundation - www.winniemabaso.org - was established to support vulnerable and orphaned children in South Africa, particularly those affected by HIV and AIDS.    

Reubens Retreat - www.reubensretreat.org - based at the former Woods Hospital, Glossop, Reuben's Retreat is a place to relax, recharge and build memories for families to take breaks, that have a child with a life limiting/threatening illness.  It also serves as a bereavement counselling and support centre for parents and siblings who have suffered the loss of a child.  A place to remember and rebuild.  

Mummy's Star - www.mummysstar.org - Mummy's Star is the only charity in the UK and Ireland dedicated to women and their families affected by cancer during pregnancy and shortly after a birth.  Their aim is to support pregnancy through cancer and beyond.  

MacMillan Cancer support - www.macmillan.org.uk - to ensure that anyone diagnosed with cancer, does not have to face the disease alone.  Macmillan offer information, provide advice and support from experts.

Willow Wood Hospice - www.willowwood.info - is an adult Hospice providing specialist palliative care for patients with life limiting illnesses, both cancer and non-cancer diagnosis.  They provide care, free of charge and patients, families and their carers are at the centre of everything they do.  Their values are Love and Care for patients, families and carers, Respect for people in life and at the end of life, Integrity being open and honest, Collaboration by people working together and Development by sharing knowledge and skills, for the benefit of all.
